A memorial at the entrance to Darwen Market recognising the people who have made an exceptional contribution to Darwen — through years of local service, or by raising the town’s profile nationally and internationally.
The Scroll is a permanent record of the people who have shaped Darwen, and a way for residents and visitors to learn about the lives behind the names. New honourees are added by the Town Council in recognition of an outstanding lifetime of contribution.

The Scroll of Honour is reserved for individuals who meet one or more of the following:
Names are considered by the Town Council and added at its discretion. The honour can be conferred posthumously.
Know someone whose contribution to Darwen deserves to be remembered? Submit their name and a short summary of their achievements to the Council Clerk for consideration.
