Transparency Code

Darwen Town Council is committed to meeting its obligations under the Local Government Transparency Code. Our compliance is assessed annually by our internal auditor as part of the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) process.

The following information is published in fulfilment of our transparency obligations:

  • Annual accounts — published each year in the Finance & Audit section above
  • AGAR (Annual Governance & Accountability Return) — published annually including the external auditor’s report and the Notice of Public Rights
  • Precept information — the amount levied on council tax payers each financial year
  • Meeting minutes and agendas — all full council meetings held in public; minutes published promptly after approval
  • Councillor information — all councillors listed with ward and contact information on our Councillors page
